Description
This recital brings together two masterpieces of the piano repertoire.
Franz Liszt’s Sonata in B minor—a romantic and philosophical epic in which virtuosity serves a profound inner quest—explores the contradictions and paradoxes that mark our lives.
In contrast, Franz Schubert’s final sonata, written in 1828, seems to suspend time and reach toward eternity. The music unfolds with a depth and serenity that are deeply moving, serving as the final meditation of a composer who would pass away just a few weeks later, at the age of only 31.
Two visions of existence, two abysses, and the same sense of vertigo: that of expressing the inexpressible.
The cultural season is supported by the Haute-Savoie Departmental Council and Ici Pays de Savoie
