An exceptional territory, the Loëx Plateau is a markedly rural area of around 900 ha, bordered by the Menoge and Arve rivers in the communes of Bonne and Arthaz Pont-Notre-Dame.
Part of the Loëx plateau (around 320 ha) received the "Espace Naturel Sensible" label in November 2018, which commits its managers to preserving it from any new construction for the next 30 years.
The four sites are made up of particularly diverse environments (agricultural and wooded areas, wetlands, meadows, dry grasslands, forests...). Take a stroll along the Loêx footpath to enjoy this preserved natural area.
The plateau is home to a number of preserved woodland areas with important pockets of biodiversity, including nationally protected species:
Siberian iris (Iris sibirica)
Aster Amelle (Aster amellus)
Agrimony (Agrimonia procera)
Barbastelle
Spotted Salamander
Yellow-bellied toad
The plateau is also a hunting area, so be careful!
From Bonne, you can reach the Voirons massif and the "Balcons du Léman" Grande Randonnée itinerary. Allow around 3 hours to reach the Voirons crest.
Don't miss the Bourg de Haute-Bonne, a 10-minute walk from the center.
TAC bus line 5 to the "Bonne center" stop. From there, you can walk (30 min) or book a TAD zone B (please note that reservations must be made no later than 5 p.m. the day before).
