Description

L'Archipel Butor and the Fondation culturelle Musée Barbier-Mueller present Adrien Viel's photographic exhibition "Regards sur les Chepang" at the Bibliothèque de lecture publique - Michel Butor.
This exhibition is dedicated to one of Nepal's most marginalized Tibeto-Burman communities. Through a series of images taken over several years of fieldwork, this exhibition offers a sensitive, documented immersion into the daily life, ritual practices and cosmology of the Chepang, an ancient hunter-gatherer people who became progressively sedentary over the course of the 20th century. The exhibition opening will take place on May 27, 2026 from 4:30pm at the Michel Butor public reading library Following the opening, a meeting with photographer Adrien Viel will be held at 6pm. This event is free and open to all. The exhibition is accessible free of charge during library opening hours.
