Description
This solo performance, which alternates between hip-hop dance, acrobatics, slam poetry, and humorous and poetic spoken word, will invite you to make choices.
Sometimes it might be easier not to have a choice at all. These days, we have too many choices—and for things that are more or less essential… Should I choose to leave everything behind and walk away? Or at the supermarket, should I buy a jar of jam or a bar of chocolate? Given the size of the aisles, you could spend hours looking at everything that’s there…
In this piece, the aim is to draw a connection between dance and life in general. Learning to freestyle—to improvise while dancing—helps us make choices when we’re undecided. It teaches you to trust yourself, to listen to yourself, and to follow your instincts. To tell yourself that, in any case, you can’t know how things would have really turned out otherwise, what the best choice would have been, and thus avoid regrets…
