A Behind-the-Scenes Look at the Salève Cable Car

From September 12 to 20, 2026, the Salève Cable Car will participate in European Heritage Days with a special program dedicated to its history, architecture, and operations. Throughout the week, take a behind-the-scenes tour of the cable car, delve into its incredible history, and enjoy activities specially designed for families and school groups. This is a unique opportunity to experience this iconic landmark of Greater Geneva in a whole new way. Step into areas usually closed to the public and uncover the secrets behind how the Salève Cable Car operates. Accompanied by an operator, explore the technical facilities and learn how this engineering marvel has connected Geneva to its mountain for over 90 years.
