Evian-les-bains (54 km): città molto antica a vocazione turistica e termale.

Meillerie (64 km): antichissimo villaggio di pescatori e di navigatori con una magnifica vista sulla sponda svizzera del Lago di Ginevra e sulla catena montuosa del Giura.
Saint-Gingolph (71 km): villaggio al confine con la Svizzera - lungolago.
Tornate a Evian e Thonon sulla stessa strada, poi prendete la D903 via Bons-en-Chablais (85 km), una regione rurale di prati e frutteti.

1Il funicolare di Thonon
Creato per permettere il trasporto fra il porto e la città alta dei materiali trasportati dalle barche di Meillerie, il funicolare fu inaugurato il 2 aprile 1888.<br/>Una volta, le sue cabine erano di legna e il loro fascino non escludeva per niente una certa sofisticazione perché erano previsti posti di prima e di seconda classe e anche una parte riservata ai bagagli e prodotti alimentari trasportati.
Concepito dall’ingegnere Auguste Alesmonières, è l’unico funicolare in Europa che si può incrociare in una curva. La lunghezza totale della linea è di 230m tra cui 86,6m in curva.
Le undici tonnellate d’acqua necessarie alla sua motricità con un sistema di contrapeso erao fornite dal servizio delle acque della città. La mancanza di acqua, i tempi di attesa dovuti al riempimento, ma soprattutto la mancanza di sicurezza di un tale sistema che si basava soltanto sull’apprezzamento della velocità da un macchinista azionando un freno, hanno motivato la messa in servizio di una trazione da motore elettrico nel 1956.
Nel 1989, la linea fu interamente automatizzata e le vecchie cabine riformate.

5Yvoire Medieval Village
A former 14th-century stronghold and now a member of the association of France's Most Beautiful Villages, Yvoire bears its heritage with pride and elegance. Whatever the season, come and discover the treasures of this medieval town on the shores of Lake Geneva.<br/>Once a fishing village on the shores of Lake Geneva, this medieval town is now a must-see tourist attraction. Valuable 14th-century remains remain: gates, ramparts, castle, square tower...
You'll also notice the splendid gleaming bulbous bell tower of Saint Pancrace church.
To the delight of visitors, the medieval town can be visited on foot. Take a leisurely stroll through the narrow streets and discover Yvoire's pretty stone houses and two harbors. Throughout your visit, you'll enjoy beautiful views over the lake.
You'll also have the pleasure of finding the Jardin des Cinq Sens, inspired by the poetic atmosphere of medieval labyrinths. Several intimate gardens with evocative names invite you to awaken your senses and discover new things: the garden of taste, smell, touch...

On the lake side, depending on the season, you can enjoy a variety of activities:

- Nernier, the pearl of Lake Geneva, a pretty village of colorful houses with poets' phrases inscribed in the stone. For a romantic lakeside getaway.
- Domaine de Rovorée - La Châtaignière, a large natural walking area accessible from the voie verte. Forest with tall trees, paths along the lake, remains of an ancient medieval town and beautiful panoramic views.

Near by the city center, the marina is awarded the Blue Flag and offers about 400 mooring places with all equipments for the welcoming of yachtsmen and visitors : toilets, showers, car and trailer park, restaurants, bars, pizzerias...<br/>The Harbour Master's Office welcomes you all year round and offers a wide range of services: overnight berths, shower and toilet facilities, car and trailer parking nearby...
In the immediate vicinity of the Port, you can also enjoy the Sciez beach, restaurants, bars and pizzerias, as well as a wide range of leisure activities.
To stay in the port
All boats must be insured and registered with Maritime Affairs or Inland Waters, with their identification number marked on the hull.
Sub-letting by the petitioner is strictly forbidden; however, during the period when the berth is unoccupied, the municipal authority reserves the right to use it for its own benefit (CF article 3b of the operating regulations).
Each seasonal reservation must be accompanied by a deposit cheque for 30% of the total invoice amount, to be paid in full on arrival of the boat. In the event of cancellation 15 days before the rental period, no refund will be made.
