Marie-France BAY-RENAUD, first president of the Chambéry Court of Appeals

Ms. Marie-France BAY-RENAUD is a graduate of the Institute of Political Studies in Lyon (Politics and Administration program) and the Bordeaux School of Law. A member of the Class of 1991 at the National School for the Judiciary, she first practiced in Bourg-en-Bresse as an assistant prosecutor (1993–1995) and then as an investigating judge (1995–1998). In 1998, she was appointed to the Lyon Public Prosecutor’s Office, where she was primarily assigned to the economic and financial division. From 2003 to 2006, she served at the Aix-en-Provence Public Prosecutor’s Office as deputy prosecutor in charge of organized crime and, for part of that period, as head of the direct prosecution section. In 2006, she returned to Lyon as vice president of the District Court (civil matters, including serving as a guardianship judge), where she became presiding judge in late 2010. She was appointed president of the Bourgoin-Jallieu District Court in 2014, then of the Saint-Étienne District Court in 2019, before taking office as the first president of the Chambéry Court of Appeals on September 1, 2022. The cultural season is supported by the Haute-Savoie Departmental Council and Ici Pays de Savoie.
