Safety instructions

Are you going to watch the Tour de France riders? Here are a few tips and rules to follow to ensure your safety and that of the cyclists!

When standing at the side of the road, I do not cross the carriageway without checking for oncoming vehicles.
If there are safety barriers, I don’t go over them.
I will not cross the road as soon as I hear vehicles approaching, signalling the arrival of the promotional convoy or the race.
I don’t run alongside, in front of or behind the runners, as this might get in their way or cause them to fall.
As the runners pass by, I move as far away from the road as possible; some of them might come very close.
I do not step onto the road to take photos, videos or selfies.
Children must be supervised and the youngest ones must be held by the hand.
Pets must be kept on a lead.
I respect the Tour’s commitment to environmental responsibility by not littering along the roadside.
