From Annemasse, set off by bike to discover Geneva on the Greater Geneva Greenway. Between Lake Geneva, Alpine panoramas and street art, this gentle escapade takes you from the shores of the lake to the creative districts, to explore the city in a different way.
Looking for a gentle, relaxing getaway between France and Switzerland? Set off from Annemasse to discover Geneva and its famous Lake Geneva. An accessible walk that combines nature, street art and exceptional views.
From Annemasse, hop on your bike and quickly join the voieVerte du Grand Genève, a cycle path that crosses the Franco-Swiss border. Thanks to the facilities dedicated to cyclists, the route is pleasant and safe, ideal for an outing with family or friends. Just a few pedal strokes and you’re on your way to Geneva.
Whether you’re in sporty or chill mode, go at your own pace. Don’t forget to look up from your handlebars: not far away, the Salève is watching over you, while in the distance, the Jura massif takes shape. Once you’ve crossed the border, let yourself be carried away by the atmosphere of the city. By bike, Geneva reveals a different face, with its lively districts, parks and lakeside.
Lake Geneva is in sight. Take the greenway to the Eaux-Vives beach. It’s time to get out the picnic. Whether you choose to sit by the lake or in the park, all you have to do is choose the perfect spot, just a stone’s throw from the Jet d’Eau.
Enough lizarding! After a well-deserved break, it’s time to get back to the starting point of the walk. Did you know that street art is particularly prevalent in Geneva?
Set between the city and the countryside, this contemporary urban trail plunges you into a subversive culture that’s as surprising as it is unexpected in Geneva.
From the alternative Grottes district to the banks of the Rhône and Arve rivers, explore the city’s passages, bridges and other unsuspected places. Alongside Sandrine from Léman Expériences, discover their history and try to decipher the meaning of the graffiti and murals that adorn the city’s walls.
Along the way, take the time to appreciate the different atmospheres, between soothing nature and urban bustle. It’s an accessible and inspiring way to get away for a day.
See you soon on your next trip!
