The Martin Bodmer Foundation Museum houses a collection of over 150,000 items, including Western and Oriental manuscripts, autographs, incunabula and papyri...
Martin Bodmer conceived his library as a museum. Although the idea of a museum and of sharing his treasures with the general public was always present in Martin Bodmer's mind, it wasn't until 1999 that steps were taken to build a real exhibition space. On November 21, 2003, the Museum designed by architect Mario Botta finally opened its doors.
