Set off on an adventure between France and Switzerland with our motorcycle rental partner Moto plaisir. This loop takes in breathtaking scenery between Lake Geneva, the Alps and the Jura!
Pick up your equipment at Moto Plaisir in Ville la Grand. Please note that the route passes through Switzerland: make sure you have all the necessary documents to travel legally!
Head for the Salève to gain altitude and enjoy a crossing of mountain pastures with a view of Lake Geneva. Looking north, you'll see your destination on the Swiss side.
Bypassing the town of Cruseilles to the north, you'll reach Bellegarde via the Défilé de l'Ecluse.
Cross the Rhône and Bellegarde to reach the Pays de Gex.
Head for Lélex, then Mijoux, before crossing the border between Ain and Switzerland to reach Saint Cergue via the Col de la Givrine.
Descend slightly towards the lake, not far from Nyon and Rolle, and then take the bucolic Combe des Amburnex.
At the end of the combe, turn left in the direction of Le Brassus, then follow the Lac de Joux.
Cross the Col du Mollendruz and head for the pretty medieval town of Romainmôtier. It's the ideal place to stop for a drink in the village center and discover the abbey church, whose foundations date back to the 7th century.
Return to Lac de Joux via Vaulion, this time on the north side, to Le Brassus.
Cross the Col du Marchairuz and enjoy a splendid descent to Lake Geneva.
You reach the lake shore just before Nyon, and drive along it to Geneva, before crossing the border at Bardonnex customs and taking the A40 (free section) to Annemasse.
