#Discover
Perched on the heights of Lucinges, the Archipel Butor is a unique cultural venue dedicated to artists’ books, poetry and the work of Michel Butor. Combining heritage, contemporary art and panoramic views of the Geneva basin, the Manoir des Livres invites you to discover a world where literature and the arts converge. Just a few steps away, the writer’s study, preserved in its original state, completes this immersion into his creative world.
#Take part
The day begins with a guided tour of the exhibition at the Manoir des Livres, followed by a visit to Michel Butor’s study. This initial immersion offers a deeper understanding of his career and the world that inspired him. In the afternoon, it’s time for the ‘In the Footsteps of Michel Butor’ Escape Box. Divided into teams, participants open a mysterious suitcase that once belonged to the writer and solve a series of puzzles inspired by his life, his works and his travels. Observation, logic and communication will be essential to piece together the fragments of his life’s journey. An original activity that naturally encourages cooperation and collective intelligence.
The day’s programme:
10.30 am – 12 noon
Guided tour of the current exhibition at the Manoir des Livres, followed by a tour of Michel Butor’s study.
12.00 – 1.30
Lunch break in the municipal park adjacent to the Manoir des Livres, in the form of a picnic or a potluck lunch.
1.30 pm – 3 pm
Escape Box: ‘In the Footsteps of Michel Butor’.
To round off the experience, a group session can also be organised in the workshop room from 9.00 am to 10.30 am or from 4.30 pm to 6.00 pm.
#Share
At lunchtime, meet up in the municipal park next to the Manoir des Livres to enjoy a picnic or a potluck lunch. Nestled in lush green surroundings, this space offers a friendly break where everyone can chat before continuing the experience. In the event of bad weather, an indoor alternative is provided to ensure this moment of sharing can still take place.
