“Life is beautiful and should be shared.”

Hervé and Sylvia
Hervé ans Sylvia

Their background

Hervé and Sylvia form a radiant couple. He comes from Isère, she is from Spain. Their different worlds come together in a shared passion to help other people in the hospital environment. Sylvia, a qualified nurse, spent her 40-year career working in Saint-Julien-en-Genevois and later in Switzerland. Hervé began his nursing career in Grenoble before moving to Geneva for a career opportunity specialising in oncology. Alongside their demanding careers, Hervé and Sylvia thrived as members of a semi-professional musical theatre troupe. This venture began with the desire of their hospital manager to get his healthcare staff together to perform shows. For twenty years, the couple performed on stage in various theatres in Geneva and in healthcare establishments, Hervé singing and Sylvia dancing, along with around fifteen amateur and professional artists.

In 2021, their careers took a turn for the worse. Hervé and Sylvia lost the jobs they loved so much. This crisis forced them to reinvent themselves and a new project came about.

Sharing as a

common value

Their love of human contact, sharing experiences and meeting new people made it an obvious choice for them to open a guesthouse in their natural haven on the Bornes Plateau. Supported by Initiative Genevoise, the “Moun & Favi” project came to life and the couple received their first visitors in 2023. They propose two guestrooms, named after Sylvia whose nickname is Moun, and a charming gypsy caravan for 2 people, called La Fée Favi as a nod to the residents of Villy-le-Bouveret. Sylvia manages the guestrooms while Hervé takes care of the caravan.

Their daily lives are occupied by their guests’ arrivals and departures, for which they share the work. In these authentic surroundings, they pass on their passion for nature, outdoor activities and local products. Attentive to their clients’ wellbeing down to the last detail, Hervé and Sylvia serve breakfast every morning, complete with their own homemade jam and delivered to the door of each room. Their garden includes a herb and vegetable plot that visitors can access freely to reconnect with nature in all her generous simplicity. Hervé and Sylvia thrive on meeting new people and their clients sometimes become good friends. From Tony the musician to Juan from Spain, not forgetting Marie and Nathalie, every guest leaves their mark amid stories and smiles. All these fun facts make Moun & Favi a place buzzing with life and designed for togetherness.
