The Orjobet cave

74160 Archamps

Description

The cave is a large chimney several dozen metres high. It is lit by natural openings and was fully equipped with steps and cables in 1905 by the Swiss Alpine Club.
This cave is located on a difficult hiking trail. Hikers, be warned. After crossing the cave, you will pass through the Crêts mountain pastures with their panoramic views of the Geneva plain on one side and Mont Blanc on the other. On your way back down, you will also pass near the Trou de la Tine, a kind of chasm whose bottom can be reached through a large breach. In winter, it is not uncommon for the ground to be completely covered with ice, making it quite difficult to cross.
