Two new gîtes in a large house built in 2021 on the first slopes of Mont Salève. Built to the latest standards. Nearby shops (500 to 1000 m), nearby transport (bus at 500 m). Swiss border 1.5 km away.
There are many tourist sites nearby, including Annecy, Geneva, Chamonix and Mont Blanc, as well as numerous châteaux. Many flat walks, or walks to the slopes of Salève up to the summit are available form the gîte. You can also drive to the summit and the viewpoint where stunning views of the Mont Blanc range can be enjoyed on one side, and views of Geneva and Lake Geneva on the other. Traditional Savoie dishes such as tartiflette, raclette and Savoie-style fondue can also be enjoyed.
On fine days, many paragliders fly over the village to land in neighbouring Switzerland.
There are many international organisations to visit in Geneva, including CERN.
Lake Annecy and the old town are not to be missed. The summit of Mont Salève is adorned with the 'croix de Savoie' (which the gîte is named after) and was painted for the first time in 1967 by American students staying at the Campus Universitaire de Collonges located at the foot of Salève.
The closest airport is the one in Geneva. When travelling by train, it is best to arrive at Saint Julien en Genevois station, which is located 3 km from the gîte.
Sheets, duvet covers, duvets, pillow cases, pillows, bath towels and kitchen cloths are included.
Babies up to 2 years stay for free, cot bed and highchair available.
