Portrait Heidi Peugeot - Magic Green ArtOriginally from the Queyras region, Heidi lived in the department of Hautes-Alpes before moving to Versailles. She has always been immersed in the humanitarian world. From the NGO created by her grandmother to her trips to Cambodia and Mexico, Heidi dedicates herself to helping people in need. So it was only natural for her to follow studies in humanitarian risk management. On her graduation from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques, Heidi returned to Paris to work at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then seized a fabulous career opportunity at UNICEF, a Geneva-based branch of the United Nations. She spent 20 years supporting children’s rights internationally and preparing communities for climate-related disasters. She visited some thirty countries, meeting the governments of the most vulnerable nations to help them prepare as effectively as possible. Continuing in the fields of risk prevention and protection of human rights, she joined the United Nations Development Programme 2 years ago.
Alongside this work, Heidi is also the president of Magic Green’Art, the association she founded 4 years ago, struck by the observation that human relations were deteriorating in a world taken over by technology. To restore that connection, Heidi and her team began creating events to demonstrate that the magic and creativity we find through our devices can also be experienced in the real world.
Hence, these fleeting moments of fantasy come to life in magical night-time displays. Each event is created from the collective inspiration of the founders, volunteers and artists from Greater Geneva, who get together beforehand to discuss the artistic design of their future displays.
They take a sustainable approach, each land-art creation revealing the beauty of nature, consuming as little energy as possible but a maximum of human energy. With this in mind, the participants are invited to create the decor for each event themselves, because Magic Green’Art is about action as well as contemplation! Ten events have been created in 2025 with the help of an award from the Greater Geneva Cross-Border Cultural Fund. This is first and foremost a human adventure to Heidi, who enjoys seeing what appear to be wild ideas become reality, feeling the enthusiasm of the public, transforming a site if only for an evening… Having won the award again for 2026, Heidi and her teams have already begun discussing their future events which promise to be more enchanting than ever.
