The Château de Marclaz is in the south-west of Thonon. It belonged to the Ravais family until 1515 when it became the property of the two branches of illustrious Vidonnes from Geneva through marriage.
After lots of name changes following marriages, it was sold to the Baron of Chanteau for his daughter who was married to Count Max de Foras. Unfortunately today it is slowly falling into ruins. It is a rectangular building with beautiful windows and in the middle of it there is a round tower with a circular staircase.
