This castle no longer exists. The only trace which remains of this relic is a marker at the foot of the steps near to the church, marked with the date 1579.

It was comprised of a military fortress, a temporary residence of the lords of the Vuache and an administrative centre of the mandate. So, if you had lived in the 15th century in one of the 4 parisges belonging to the lords of the Vuache (Vulbens, Bans, Chevrier and Dingy) you would have regularly gone to the castle to pay taxes! This building was abandoned in the middle of the 17th century, when the headquarters of the seigneury were transferred to the neighbouring hamlet of Faramaz. The...
