This castle no longer exists. The only trace which remains of this relic is a marker at the foot of the steps near to the church, marked with the date 1579.
It was comprised of a military fortress, a temporary residence of the lords of the Vuache and an administrative centre of the mandate. So, if you had lived in the 15th century in one of the 4 parisges belonging to the lords of the Vuache (Vulbens, Bans, Chevrier and Dingy) you would have regularly gone to the castle to pay taxes!
