The bivouac at Monts du Genevois

Are you planning to spend the night in a bivouac?

Our massifs are open to all, but to preserve their richness certain rules must be respected. A bivouac is a short-lived camp set up for a single night, from sunset until the following morning.

Bivouacs are tolerated in our massifs, except in areas classified as biotope reserves.

Bivouac rules

Respect the environment
Select your site carefully (beware of cliffs, rivers and the nature of the terrain).
Don’t light fires on the ground
Collect your garbage and leave no trace of your passage.
Don’t disturb the peace and quiet
Don’t pick flowers, fruit or minerals.

At the Salève

Bivouacs are prohibited in the “Le Petit Salève” sector. The area concerned is located in the communes of Etrembières and Monnetier-Mornex.

Au Vuache

Bivouacs are prohibited on the western slopes of the Vuache massif. Communes of Clarafond and Chaumont

Aux Voirons

Bivouacs are prohibited on the Voirons massif.
